CONSEQ Privacy Policy
Your private recovery content stays on your iPhone. We collect limited usage and crash data, subscription information, an optional Community profile and content, and the fixed referral answer described below. We do not record your screen or sessions.
What stays on your phone
Except for the referral choice below, your onboarding answers and optional name, journals, reasons, check-in answers, detailed urge and relapse records, recovery history, and blocking settings are stored locally. We do not upload their contents for analytics. Apple may include local app data in device backups according to your settings.
Screen Time selections use Apple's opaque identifiers. Custom website domains and app limits or schedules stay on your device. We do not collect your browsing history, the names of selected apps, or the websites you attempt to visit. Distract Me processes camera frames and object recognition on your phone; frames are not saved or uploaded.
Information our services receive
- Community: If you join, Supabase stores a separate guest account, username, selected profile picture, posts, replies, likes, reports, membership and moderation records. Your published username, picture, posts and replies are visible to other approved members. Administrators can review accounts, content and reports for moderation. Custom pictures are resized and reencoded without their original photo metadata. Your private onboarding name does not become your Community username automatically.
- Referral answer: On continuing past “Where did you hear about us?”, Supabase receives one fixed choice: Google, TikTok, X, Instagram, Facebook or Other, a random retry receipt, and a timestamp. There is no free-text answer. The receipt is separate from Community and analytics identifiers. PostHog does not receive the answer.
- Usage analytics: PostHog receives a random installation identifier, timestamps, app/device details and explicit events about onboarding screens and completion, feature use, permission results, Protection changes, task outcomes, settings changes and subscription journeys. This includes Regular and Backup alarm choices, app-blocking actions without app identities or schedule times, limited whole-day streak counts and totals of saved journals and reasons. Counts do not include the underlying content. Shield interaction counts do not identify an app or website and do not measure every blocked visit.
- Crash diagnostics: PostHog receives sanitized technical crash reports with app/device details and stack information. Reports exclude private content, recordings, arbitrary user metadata and interaction breadcrumbs.
- Subscriptions: Apple handles payments. Superwall handles paywall delivery, subscription status and purchase analytics, receiving installation/device identifiers, product and transaction information, paywall interactions, timestamps, device/app details, locale and approximate region. We do not receive your payment-card details.
- Support and website: If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any details you choose to include. Cloudflare hosts this website and processes ordinary request information needed to serve and protect it, such as IP addresses and browser details. Our app services also receive the network information needed to handle requests.
We use these records to provide subscriptions and Community, understand onboarding and feature use, fix failures, answer support requests and prevent abuse. Installation identifiers are pseudonymous, not a promise that the data is anonymous. PostHog events may be compared with Superwall subscription events. They are separate from your Community identity.
PostHog session replay and automatic tap and text capture are disabled. We do not send questionnaire answers, journal or reason text, Community text or pictures, camera frames, Screen Time tokens or website domains to PostHog. PostHog location enrichment is disabled. We do not sell personal information.
Permissions and local reminders
You choose whether to grant Screen Time, camera, notification and, on supported iPhones, alarm permission. Screen Time controls blocking and optional device-wide app-deletion protection. Camera permission enables object tasks. Local notifications can remind you to pledge, about trial renewal, or to return after an unfinished subscription signup. The optional Backup alarm can sound if a Distract Me task is left unfinished. These reminders and alarms are scheduled on your device; notification permission and alarm permission are separate. Change app preferences in CONSEQ or revoke permissions in iOS Settings.
Your analytics choice
Collection of optional PostHog usage and crash data begins after the Get Started agreement. In updated app versions, to stop it on this installation, open CONSEQ and stop optional analytics. If your app version does not support the link, contact us for help. Your app features and subscription remain available. This does not remove previously sent records or stop the subscription and Community processing needed to provide those services; email us about deletion requests.
Service providers
We use Supabase for Community and referral storage, PostHog for usage and crash diagnostics, Superwall for subscriptions and paywalls, Cloudflare for this website, and Apple for App Store purchases and iOS services. Providers process data to operate these services and may process it outside your country, including the United States. Providers process information under their service agreements and privacy commitments.
Retention and deletion
Local recovery content remains until you erase it or remove the app. In Profile, Erase everything and start over removes local recovery data and lifts CONSEQ restrictions. If you joined Community, it first requests deletion of your Community account and its content. Internet is required; an unsuccessful deletion can be retried or referred to support. Removing the app alone does not request Community deletion.
Community records are kept while needed to provide the forum and handle moderation. Subscription, usage, diagnostic and service-security records are held separately while needed for those purposes or legal obligations. Local erase does not delete records already held by providers; a new installation identifier does not delete old records. Previously collected records remain subject to the retention commitments in the policy under which they were collected. Support emails are kept only as needed to answer requests and meet applicable obligations. Contact us to request deletion.
Contact us to request access, correction, export or deletion of service records. We may need information to locate your records, especially when identifiers are pseudonymous. Applicable law may require some records to be retained. Erasing data or deleting the app does not cancel a subscription; cancel through your App Store settings.
Age, rights and changes
CONSEQ is intended for ages 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe this has happened so we can investigate and remove it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent where applicable, and complain to your data-protection authority.
